A new way to connect with the community.

Are you a service provider who wants to reach out to more people in the community? Do you want to join a network of mobile outreach projects that can help you deliver your services more effectively? If so, you might be interested in Outreach in Motion, a new initiative supported by Worcestershire County Council.

Outreach in Motion is a collaboration between the Mobile Community Outreach Partnership. It aims to offer opportunities for other services to use the existing community buses as platforms for outreach work. You can either join one of the buses at an event or be hosted by the bus on their rounds. You can also display your information and advice materials on the buses to reach those who are not online.

We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to make a difference in the community.

Mobile Library

The Worcestershire mobile library is a service that brings books and other materials to people who live in rural areas or have difficulty accessing a regular library. It is a large vehicle that has shelves of books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and magazines that customers can borrow for free.

The mobile library also offers free Wi-Fi, computer access, printing, photocopying, and scanning services. The mobile library visits 160 villages in Worcestershire every four to five weeks, following a regular timetable that can be found on the website.

Customers can also reserve items online or by phone and collect them from the mobile library when it visits their area. The mobile library is a great way to enjoy reading and learning, and to connect with other people in the community.

Kidderminster District Youth Trust

KDYT run youth clubs, offer individual support, deliver educational support programmes from Kidderminster Youth House. We also work in the community through our detached work, KDYT Youth Bus, attending community events, and through working with local schools, charities, colleges, and other great organisations.

Our work is not time limited, and we have members who have been part of KDYT for many years, our work engages around 250 individual young people each week.

Kidderminster Youth House is open 7 days a week and has several rooms available to hire, including 1-1 rooms, recording studio, a full-sized sports hall, boxing gym, fully fitted kitchen and other useful space.

The KDYT Youth Bus operates all year round providing sessions across Wyre Forest, delivered by qualified Youth Workers and KDYT Young Leaders. In school holidays the Youth Bus visits local parks where it is visited by large numbers of young people and their families.

The Youth Bus has gaming facilities, activities and young people tell us it’s a safe place to be. Many young people engaged through the youth bus, will take part in the range of activities offered at KDYT and often will access individual support through our mentoring programme.

We work with a range of partner agencies who are welcome to join us at any events, partners who have, find this to be a really positive way of engaging hard to reach young people and their families, their repeated attendance attesting to this.

If you would like to get involved, please get in touch.

Community Transport Worcestershire

Community Transport provides journeys in volunteer-driven cars, minibuses, and fully accessible small vehicles for those who have no access to or are unable to use other forms of transport for a particular journey.

In Worcestershire, there are 14 main schemes covering the whole county.  Nearly all are run by voluntary organisations, and all are not-for-profit.  Drivers can pick-up passengers from their homes and take them to medical appointments, hospitals for visiting, social and leisure activities to the shops and to other services they need.

The service could also be used to local destinations, for example, to help people access a mobile visiting service in a community which may be outside at a village hall, church, or pub.  Where several people may need to travel together, a special community bus route could be set up.  CT scheme operators are always willing to look at helping to provide transport where it is needed.

Fares are payable and those with a National Bus Pass can travel at a reduced rate.

  • Crazy Golf

  • Archery

  • Sucker archery

  • Multi sports

  • Bouncy castle

  • Canoeing

  • Bushcraft skills

We also have strong ties to a variety of partner providers, who help us reach our outcomes.
