Coaching and mentoring are widely recognised as valuable development tools to facilitate an individual’s personal and professional development.
A coach is a skilled and trained practitioner who uses a range of questioning and coaching tools and techniques to enable you to unlock and achieve your full potential. Coaching is usually shorter term (up to 6 sessions).
A mentor can facilitate your development through the sharing of knowledge, skills and experience. It is often led by an experienced and skilled professional mentor. Mentoring is usually a longer term relationship.
Both coaching and mentoring have been shown to lead to enhanced innovation, performance and success.
Anyone working in a health and care related role (social care, voluntary and community sector, NHS) can access coaching or mentoring for free via the Coaching and Mentoring Hub. NB You will need to register as a coachee/mentee on the website.
Are you a qualified coach (Level 5 or above) or mentor and would you like to offer coaching/mentor to colleagues? You can also register on this site for free via the Coaching and Mentoring Hub
